Abstract – A brain tumor is a cluster of abnormal cells that grows out of control in your brain. Some brain tumors are benign, which do not necessarily lead to cancer though can cause serious health problems. Others are malignant, which means they can cause cancer. In this paper, we created deep learning tool that helps predict the most common types of brain tumors – meningioma, glioma, and pituitary. We adopt the use of transfer learning and use pre-trained residual network to extract features from MR images. The residual network significantly enhances the performance of neural networks with more layers and less error rate. This helps radiologists to detect abnormalities in the brain at an early stage.
